Stillwater, MN contains a great selection of unique restaurants, shops, and entertainment options, so it’s easy to get tired out from all the fun. Thankfully, there are plenty of delicious coffee shops in Stillwater to fuel back up with a great cup of coffee or tea!

Inside Tin Bins Cafe

Stillwater offers all sorts of coffee drink options – from specialty lattes to strong black drip coffee to iced coffee shakes to turmeric lattes and oat milk matcha lattes – so no matter what your taste buds prefer, you’re sure to find something that’s worth sipping.

Here are some of the best places to find a cup of coffee in downtown Stillwater.

Revival Coffee & Deli

Revival Coffee & Deli tucks into the back of the historic 1890 River Exchange building and has a gorgeous set of windows overlooking the Freight House, St. Croix River, Gateway Trail, and historic Commander building.

A great place for simple brewed coffee or espresso drinks, pastries, and a breakfast sandwich, you’ll love grabbing a table (they have a decent amount of seating) at Revival to enjoy your cup of coffee before heading to the multiple unique shops in the River Exchange building and along the main street of downtown Stillwater.

Revival Coffee & Deli brews coffee from local UP roasters in Minneapolis, features Nordic Waffle sandwiches, and often have gluten-free pastry selections. Check out their Golden Latte made with turmeric! They are also now home to Something Pasta, so grab easy to-go dishes for a picnic in the summer.

Tin Bins Cafe

Tin Bins is located in an old grain elevator that was built in 1898 and moved 6 years later by horse and log from its original spot to its present location close to the St. Croix River. Even if you aren’t a coffee drinker, this unique building known as The Commander is worth taking a look at!

Tin Bins serves up your favorite coffee drinks and seasonal specialties like an Eggnog Latte in winter or a Nitro Cold Brew Ice Cream float in the summer.

Along with the yummy coffee and casual food, Tin Bins is known for their beautiful deck (because it is only accessed from the indoors, the deck isn’t pup-friendly) and proximity to the river and Gateway Trail. In fact, if you have taken the Gateway bike Trail through downtown Stillwater you know where Tin Bins is! Bonus: Tin Bins has ample indoor seating and a parking lot reserved for their customers.

Tin Bin’s pastries are amazing! Don’t skip a muffin with your coffee!

The Daily Grind Espresso Cafe

This charming coffee shop has been a Stillwater staple and favorite of locals for years. Located on the north side of town, in the back of Valley Bookseller, the Daily Grind has limited indoor seating but their gorgeous deck with fantastic views of the river and plenty of outdoor seating more than makes up for it.

The Daily Grind has easy parking (especially if you are heading next door to the River Market Co-Op) and is conveniently located right off the Brown’s Creek Bike Trail.

You’ll find their menu full of familiar favorite lattes, a great chai tea, and cappuccinos with fun specialty drinks and homemade pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

Don’t forget to ask what the Drink of the Day is at the Daily Grind. Today’s was a red tea latte- Roobious tea, vanilla, Cinnamon, and Honey, with Steamed milk. This is a lovely drink that happens to be Non-caffeinated. And if you have kids in tow, they love their fresh smoothies!

MADE

Tucked into the hill right at the bottom of the historic Main Street stairs on the south side of Stillwater, MADE coffee serves up a fantastic selection of good, quality espresso drinks and simple in-house made pastries.

Bring in your furry friends to grab your coffee (they even have treats for them and a water dish waiting outside) and head out to their beautiful patio area (they have very limited indoor seating). In cooler weather you’ll want to hunker around the outdoor fireplace to enjoy your brew before heading back downtown shopping.

The MADE building shares the limestone hill with the Lora Hotel and the historic cave system. Not currently open to the public, the cave system was cut into the hill in 1868 and used by the Joseph Wolf Brewery. After renovations, hopefully you can tour the cave again someday but, you’ll see remnants of the public tour ticket booth that took place near MADE coffee.

This is the coffee shop for those looking for a cup of strong, quality espresso without a lot of fuss or muss. And, of course, with a location that has the singular charm that Stillwater offers. If you are feeling fit, climb the main street stairs for the best view in town year-round.

Sip on their beautiful latte (pictured) and be sure to try one of their freshly squeezed juices, too!
